We are a dynamic and rapidly growing restaurant group dedicated to providing exceptional culinary experiences. With a portfolio of successful restaurants and a vision for national expansion, we are seeking a hands-on Controller to join our team with responsibilities that include day/day and cyclical responsibilities as well as developing financial strategies. In addition to our restaurant ventures, we are venturing into the realm of prepared specialty food distribution to food markets, bringing our unique flavors to a wider audience.

As the Controller, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial success and strategic growth. Reporting directly to the VP finance, this role requires a hands-on approach, overseeing all financial aspects of our restaurant operations and the expansion of our distribution division. This position requires a proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, as you will be instrumental in shaping our financial strategies and supporting our ambitious growth plans.

This role offers a hybrid office schedule after training.

Responsibilities:

• Hands-on review and preparation of day/day accounting, management reporting, and tax compliance.
• Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's expansion objectives, including national restaurant growth and the establishment of a distribution division.
• Provide leadership and guidance on financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to optimize performance and drive profitability.
• Oversee financial reporting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and transparency across all financial activities.
• Manage cash flow, capital allocation, and investment decisions to maximize returns and support sustainable growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess market opportunities, evaluate expansion prospects, and mitigate financial risks.
• Lead financial due diligence for potential acquisitions, partnerships, and investment opportunities.
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, lenders, and regulatory agencies.
• Implement robust financial controls, policies, and procedures to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
• Experience on restaurant accounting including POS systems and inventory control
• Proven track record of success as a Controller, CFO in the restaurant/hospitality industry, preferably with experience in multi-unit operations and expansion.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and risk management.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to think strategically, identify opportunities, and drive innovation.
• Excellent leadership skills with a hands-on approach to management and the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders.
• Detail-oriented and analytical, with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
• Experience in M&A, fundraising, and investor relations is a plus.
• Passion for food and hospitality industry is highly desirable.

Salary: $175,000 - $250,000 + Bonus and extraordinary benefits
