There was a delicious cake at a Hogwarts celebration during the 2011–2012 school year, held at the Dance Club and attended by a number of Hogwarts students, students from Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and Mahoutokoro who were competing in the Intercontinental Wizard's Cup, school faculties, Hogwarts ghosts, and a number of outside personnel. The cake was made by the Hogwarts house-elves.[1]

Description[]

This large cake stood two tiers high and was adorned with enormous cones that curved like the horns of an Erumpent, lavishly covered in chocolate. A large number 3, likely made from giant crackers, decorated the cake, which was further embellished with luxurious cream and numerous figurines of wizards and witches — ones of whom a Hogwarts student had met and gotten to know over their four Hogwarts years. These were either sugar figurines or cookies.[1]

The witches and wizards depicted on the cake included:

  • Willa Weholt, the Hogwarts ghost who had been around the school Quidditch pitch since her death a few centuries ago.[2]
  • The younger self of Miranda Goshawk, the renowned author of several books on magical theory and charms.[3]
  • Astrid Cole, a Healer working at St Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries and a Herbologist who contributed to halting the outbreak of the Mysterious Malady in 2010.[4]
  • Long Shouren, a Chinese dragonologist who had aided dragons from Dark wizard poaching, eventually becoming a fugitive for illegal dragon possession.[5]
  • Kaliope, a street musician and former Hogwarts student with connections to the Selkies in the Great Lake.[6]
  • Abigail Grey, a Gryffindor girl who was secretly a werewolf.[7]

Behind the scenes[]

  • In 2024, the cake was used in Harry Potter: Magic Awakened on 1 September, to celebrate the third anniversary of the game's first release.
