O'Henry Chocolate Oatmeal Bars Recipes (1)

I am all about simple recipes with few ingredients and these fall perfectly in that category. I whipped them up in about 20 minutes and they were a huge hit.

My kids also helped me make them from start to finish, so if you need a fun project with your kids, this is for you.

They also loved sampling the bars as we went. It’s the perfect no bake recipe, for those hot summer days, when you need a sweet treat, but you don’t want to turn on that oven.

Would any oats work for this recipe?

For this recipe, we highly recommend using quick oats. We have found that they provide the best texture for the bars. They are soft and not overly chewy, or difficult to eat.

If you are looking for a quick and simple dessert, quick oats would definitely work best for this recipe.

Add a topping:

These bars are delicious as is, but they are fun to add a little extra flavor or topping to. I like to add a few little sweet crumbles on top, but these bars are delicious as is, that this is totally optional.

If you are wanting to top yours off, or add a little flavor and texture, here is what we recommend adding:

  • coconut shreds
  • crushed peanuts
  • crushed almonds
  • crushed pecans
  • crushed walnuts
  • mini M & M’s
  • Oreos
  • Candybar (Kit Kat, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, Butterfingers, Heath Bar, etc).
  • Peanut Butter Drizzle
  • White Chocolate Drizzle
  • Peanut Butter chips
  • crushed graham crackers

Really any sweet topping would be absolutely delicious on these. They are so easy and fun to make, that this is something the whole family will love making and doing together.

This Snickers Trifle is so delicious, and so easy to throw together when you need something quick. Also, it is beautiful.

The thing I love about trifles is how beautiful they look, no matter how messy they may look. They will always look delicious and irresistible. Watch how to make this recipe, here:
