POWER BALLS RECIPE: LYZABETH’S POWER BALL 2.0!
About five years ago I created a power ball recipe for my TV show Body Fuel. It was a big hit as it was raw, gluten & dairy free, loaded with anti-oxidants and other skin and heart healthy ingredients.
I wanted to do a power ball 2.0 to make it even yummier (if that’s even possible).. lol… and… it was! The new power ball recipe has all the amazing skin healthy anti-oxidant power as the first but with an extra punch of flavor and texture. Your taste buds are in for a treat! I enjoy mine pre, or post workout or just when I am craving a sweet snack. You can easily fit these in to your macros and your everyday with zero guilt.
This is just one of the many recipes in my TrainWithLyzabeth.com eating plan. LYZABETH’S POWER BALL 2.0: VIDEO INSTRUCTONS
PEANUT BUTTER CHOCOLATE CHIP RAW POWER BALLS RECIPE
This ingredient yields 30 power balls are roughly 20 grams each. (*In the vid, I say 30 grams, but I’ve changed it to 20 grams since then to reduce calories per serving.)
INGREDIENTS
1/2 cup ground pumpkin seeds (measure raw pumpkin seeds before grinding)
¼ ground flax seeds
1 Tbsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground maca root
¼ cup shredded coconut
¼ cup unsweetened cacao nibs
½ cup dried cherries (or other fav dried or fresh fruit i.e pomegranate seeds)
1/2 cup semi sweet dark chocolate chips
1/3 cup chia seeds
1 cup organic peanut butter (or other nut butter if you prefer)
4 Majool dates ground:
- Side note make sure to get fresh gooey dates. If they are dry, you will not get the sweet taste or sticky texture necessary for the recipe. It’s best if you soak the dates in a small glass bowl overnight in room temperature with a breathable cloth or paper towel to cover them.
DIRECTIONS
- Add to food processor or magic bullet: Pumpkin seeds and Majool dates. Once each is ground and blended, place in a bowl.
- Add all other ingredients and stir. After initial stir, ensure your hands are thoroughly washed and kneed the mixture together with your hands.
- Use an ice cream scoop, or just use your hands and create a ball of power ball with your hands and pack it together until it is round. Each power ball should measure out at roughly 20 grams. Place in Tupperware and keep in the fridge.
Voila! Making these awesome power balls is as easy as that! If you do make em, please drop a comment below and give me some feedback! (ps. make sure to subscribe to my YouTube Channel for more fun recipes!)
