The mother of all video creator conferences,VidConwas started by veteran YouTube creators John and Hank Green (ofVlogbrothers‘ fame). It was first held in Los Angeles in 2010, but soon moved to Anaheim. In 2020 and 2021, it was replaced with the online “VidCon Now”, a virtual gathering of YouTube creators.

It’s now come around again for its13th in-person incarnation in 2024!The whole event was acquired by Paramount Global in 2018. YouTube has been the main sponsor since 2013, except for 2021–22, where TikTok took over. This makes VidCon AnaheimtheYouTube convention for creators and subscribers.

There will be a Community track for fans, a specialCreator track for video makers(which is unique to the Anaheim flagship event), and an Industry track. Recordings of the Creator and Industry conference sessions can now be streamed with a $199 annual pass.

In addition, there are two spin-off events this year: In September, there is VidCon Baltimore, which is now a regular. VidCon Mexico in Mexico City is coming around for a second edition this year. Last year’sSão Paulo event, however, appears to have been a one off.

No international events have been confirmed for 2025, at least not yet.

Alt Summitis a premier conference and community for thousands of creative entrepreneurs and influencers. Originally named Altitude Design Summit, it started as a design blogger conference back in 2009. Other niches and channels, very much including TikTok and YouTube, have followed over the years.

The four-day conference offers plenty oftalks, panels, workshops, and networking opportunities. It’s a place where creative minds can learn from each other, help each other, and cheer each other on. Fans are out of the picture here, though.

PAXstarted out as the Penny Arcade Expo in 2004, run by the creators of the gaming webcomic of the same name. Over the years, it has developed into atop event for gamers, streamers, and fans.

There are now several PAX events a year: Apart from PAX East in Boston, there are also annual events in Seattle (PAX West), Philadelphia (PAX Unplugged, focuses on tabletop gaming) and Melbourne, Australia (PAX Aus).

For video creatorsin the gaming nicheespecially, it’s a fantastic opportunity to interact withmajor playersin their industry.

The South by Southwest (SXSW) Conference is a famous – and absolutely enormous – eventwhere technology, business, film, music, education, and culture converge. Here, digital creatives can discover cutting-edge ideas, network with peers and some of the biggest names in the American entertainment space, and have indecent amounts of fun.

How enormous? In 2024, there wereover 450 sessionsyou could mix and match, and over two dozen of them were part of adedicated Creator Economy track. This track is designed to explore creator innovation, including distibution, monetization, and brand alignment strategy, with speakers and mentors from across the entire sector.

But SXSW is not just a conference. It is also a film festival, a music festival, a comedy festival, and so much more. For more about what a badge gets you, check out theSXSW attendance info page. Next year’s edition has already been confirmed for March 7–15, 2025, and ticket sales have started.

There will also be aSXSW Sydney this year still, Australia edition from October 14–20!

TheClamour Creator Summitis a conference set up for online video creators, the brands wanting to network with and sponsor them, andno one else.

The exclusive summit is set in a private resort, letting creators combine fun with business – perhaps more so than at other events. There areno fans and no media coverage, allowing creators to speak their mind and voice their concerns freely.

The Clamour Creator Summit is by invitation only. However, you can apply for an invite on the website. The event itself is free to attend, and there are even discounts for the rooms.

Note that the 2023 edition was cancelled, and there is no information about a 2024 event. In previous years, it used to happen around May.

With this, the summit may have gone the way of its former sister event Clamour Live, which did have fan access.

Buffer Festival, founded by YouTube creators Corrado Coia, Samantha Fall, and Corey Vidal in 2013, is an annual celebration of online video. It’s an event for digital creators and their fans. Notably, it’s centered aroundtheatrical screenings of premieresbyonline video creators.

The annual event includes the screenings, workshops and educational sessions, creator meetups, and the Buffer Festival Awards ceremony. 2023 was the event’s 10th edition, and it will likely return in late 2024, though there is no official confirmation as of yet.

A Buffer spinoff is part of this year’sBlue Mountain Film + Media Festival, which you’ll find below.

Over the years, the Blue Mountain Film Festival has developed from focusing on TV and film screenings to a wider industry event. Recently rechristenedBlue Mountain Film + Media Festival, the Canadian event has a growing focus on new digital media.

The festival’s Creative Forum segment is now in its third year. Of its four days of screenings, talks, workshops, and live entertainment, two are reserved for the movie and television industry. The other two now lean heavily into digital, online, and social media creation, and are a major networking event for Canadian creators (but not just).

The BMFMF has a range of tickets available, from individual screenings (and bundles of them) to the two different 2-day Creative Forum segments, as well as a 4-day ticket.

Live-streaming platform Twitch is also hosting its very own international creator event:TwitchCon Europe!

While the 3-day flagship gaming event has been held in the U.S. annually since 2015, a European spin-off is being organized since 2019. So far, a different city played host to the2-day eventevery year, but from 2024 into the foreseeable future, that honor belongs to Rotterdam.

Technically, the event starts on June 28 with the Partner Party.

YouTuber events are a fantastic investment in channel growth andsustainable success as a creatoron various platforms. Most of them allow online video creators to meet their fans and those that inspired them. There’ll plenty of fun experience to put back into video form, too!

Many events are also focused on thebusiness and networkingside of things, with industry insiders, lots of other creators, and reps from companies that want to work with them. Make sure to brace yourself properly for those – polish up your online presence and carry business cards with links or aQR codeto all your profiles.

On the other hand, without fans around, YouTubers can share real behind-the-scenes tips, insights, and experiences – from social media best practices over monetization workshops to discussing a pro content creation process.
